Winterization is a community service project in which students from Purdue University assist in preparing the yards and homes of the elderly and disabled in Tippecanoe County for winter. Winterization 2011 will take place on the morning of Saturday, November 5th.
Volunteers will rake leaves, clean gutters, wash windows, trim shrubs, and do other winterizing tasks for the residents. Conversation with the residents is also important, as many are unable to leave their homes regularly and have few visitors. This year we have over 180 residents eagerly awaiting for us to "Winterize" their homes.
Interested? Register here, or click here for more info. Online registration closes today, 11/3/11 at 8:30pm.
(Ps: Thanks to all of you who volunteered at Winterization 2010. Last year we helped 133 residents with the help of 481 volunteers!)
If you ordered a Winterization shirt please pay BettyJo Townsend at the Wesley Foundation Student Center (the building with huge red doors opposite to the PMU). Volunteer shirts are $10.00. Checks can be made to "The Wesley Foundation at Purdue". Cash accepted too!
Note: You are guaranteed a shirt only if you pay by Thursday, 11/3/11.
